The Importance of Evangelism and the Hope of Heaven
Evangelism is core to our calling as followers of Jesus. We share the good news so that all may know Christ, grow in grace, and inherit the hope of heaven.
Jesus gives the church its mission plainly: to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach. This is not only the work of pastors—it is the joyful responsibility of every believer. Through evangelism, we invite a searching world to encounter the living Christ, to receive forgiveness, and to begin a new life shaped by His love.
Our urgency is rooted in eternity. Life is brief, but heaven is forever. Jesus comforts us with the promise that there is a home prepared for all who trust in Him. This hope lifts our eyes above today’s struggles and compels us to share the gospel so others may also share in eternal joy.
The gospel is God’s power to save. We do not coerce; we bear witness—with clarity, compassion, and courage—trusting the Holy Spirit to open hearts. When we speak of Christ, we participate in God’s redeeming love at work in the world.
God’s desire is that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. Evangelism mirrors the heart of the Father and the mission of the Son—seeking and saving the lost—and it forms us into a people who pray, serve, and speak with grace.
One day, in heaven, we will rejoice to see those who came to faith through faithful witness. Until then, we proclaim Christ with love, confident in this promise:
